In 1911, Balthasar Merz opened his textile factory in Germany, but production was eventually halted in the 1960s. Merz b. Schwanen was then revived in 2011 by the descendants of the founder. The brand retains the production methods of its founder; its products are still made in Germany today using 32 "loopwheelers," which are circular knitting machines, just like in the early days of the brand. This technology allows the brand to produce each garment without a side seam, ensuring incredible comfort.
