After 18 years of learning the headwear manufacturing process, Ehrhardt Koch launched New Era in 1920. In the 1930s, baseball was becoming an increasingly popular sport in the United States. Even then, players wore caps to protect themselves from the sun. New Era launched the production of baseball caps. And the success is there. Indeed, in 1934, New Era became the official cap supplier of the Cleveland Indians.
