Author: Paul Dumée (1849–1930), first-class pharmacist and renowned mycologist of his time, author of numerous works on mushrooms.
Illustrator: Aimé Bessin (1870–1942), son of an engraver and Parisian naturalist painter, worked in gouache and watercolor, and contributed to many naturalist publications on a wide range of subjects.
