In 1965, Corgi updated the tooling for the 1960 Chevrolet Impala Taxi (Corgi 221) by introducing a Chevrolet Police Patrol Car (Corgi 481) and the Chevrolet Taxi Cab (Corgi 480) in bright colors.
The police car was by far the best-selling model, with over 500,000 units produced, making the Corgi 480 a rarity, especially when it comes with its original box.
Based on American cars, each model includes a driver figure in the front passenger seat.
