Barena Venezia is an Italian family business that has been highly influential in men's and women's fashion in Italy and beyond over the past few decades. It introduced the concept of dressing casually yet elegantly using workwear fabrics. The company was founded in 1993 by Sandro Zara, who discovered patterns and sewing books in the archives of wool mills in Venice. The brand name, Barena, references the lifestyle of rural inhabitants in Venice and the significance of the sea in their culture.
