The mountains are one of the historical birthplaces of the notion of landscape. But in what way do mountains still form “landscape” today? Built around this question, Les Carnets du paysage seeks to analyze contemporary transformations in experiences, representations and projects developing across mountain territories and landscapes.
In a context where social issues linked to quality of living environments are gaining importance — alongside renewed landscape theories and practices and the growth of university training dedicated to landscape — the journal turns as broadly and precisely as possible toward realizations, ideas, works and projects devoted to landscape, in France and abroad.
Its firmly multidisciplinary approach explores design knowledge and practices, while also drawing from the humanities, literature and the arts.
