Renowned for its masterful interpretation of classic American menswear, BEAMS PLUS began as a tiny store in Harajuku, Tokyo, in 1976. The shop, named American Life Shop BEAMS, emerged during a period when young people, influenced by American culture seen in films and television, yearned for more than just military gear. This marked the beginning of BEAMS. Designed to replicate a UCLA student’s room, the shop was undoubtedly the first of its kind.
