This film from Camille Sauvageot’s Archives de la Planète is simply titled “Foire aux croûtes,” a reference to the open-air art exhibition in the Montmartre neighborhood, which opened in April 1921.
Thomas Clerc, with his inimitable quest for forgotten, lost, and glimpsed places, enters these images and follows the imaginary journey of a Montmartre painter; thus continuing, in a way, the stroll he began in his latest book, Paris, Museum of the 21st Century.
