Rocky Mountain Featherbed was founded in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, known as "Cowboy State" in the United States, in the late 1960s. The company created its iconic down vest with a seamless single-piece leather yoke for cowboys. The idea of the leather yoke came from the leather capes worn by Native Americans. Their down vests became famous for their cold resistance and heat retention characteristics, similar to feather beds. Rocky Mountain continues to attract people worldwide across generations.
