Meurisse was founded in 1845 by the pastry chef Adolphe Meurisse, a pioneer of Belgian chocolate who established the first Belgian chocolate shop in 1845 in Antwerp, at a time when chocolate was still a rare treat. Meurisse is the oldest Belgian chocolate brand and has always placed progress at the heart of its concerns.
